Cases
There’s always doubt as to whether cases are allowed to be shared. Some are for it and some against. But are we allowed to?
Ofcourse we are, PROVIDED, identification details of the patient are not mentioned. A case can be presented as “Male, age 55, presented with……”. So that the reader is aware of the condition and age of the patient. But, it cannot be presented as “Mr Alli from Vryburg, age 55, presented with …” The latter manner does not allow confidentiality of the patient and that is not permissible.
To answer this, I’ll give an analogy. There’s a common saying that women love chocolate. And really we do! but not all women can tolerate chocolate. Some say it’s too sweet. Some say they just don’t like chocolate that much. Some say its an occasional treat, others say its only at their “pick me up” times that they’ll indulge. Majority, though, love it, and can endevour chocolate at any time.
Likewise. There is no ONE, SINGLE treatment for every menstrual case. or every anxiety case. Every case that comes needs to be seen as an indivual. Person A has anxiety but has heart beating through the chest, is fearful, cannot take small confined spaces.
Person B, only has anxiety before exams. Head can blank out. Anxiousness can cause diarrhoea, and memory becomes poor despite studying.
Both present with anxiety. Both may get similar diet advice : Increase water, have omega’s, clean diet, etc. But their remedies may be completely different and they may take different time spans to respond as well.
Like we all are individuals, we all respond differently and require a unique personal approach.
The more cases shared, the more the reader can see what homeopathy treats and the wide scope of it.
The finer symptoms that people often think are unimportant to mention, can be illustrated in the cases to highlight that no symptom is unimportant (eg, cravings of food/drink after the condition started- “Since I got sick, I love sour foods” and the importance of these minute factors in homeopathic prescribing.)
The emotional and mental experiences can perhaps allow reader to see what a great impact homeopathy has for emotional cases.
Patience- To illustrate that communication is required between patient and doctor to allow efficient response. If patient’s complaint isn’t easing up within time, remedy needs to be changed to allow alleviation of complaint.
